Natural resources are absolutely essential for human life. All over the world, human wealth and the development of countries is based on the use and consumption of different resources like water, land or raw materials. Ideally, natural resources not only contribute to wealth and develop the economy on local and national level, but also reduce poverty and bring stability to countries. Yet, for a sustainable use of natural resources, the protection and preservation of the environment is of eminent importance. Wolfgang Heinrich, veteran expert on the Do No Harm approach and involved in its development from early days, provided a one-day training for FAKT consultants in October 2019 on how to implement the Do No Harm approach.

A day’s input and reflection of FAKT consultants in April 2019 served to understand the chances of digitalisation for consultancies and for development interventions. Nora Hauptman of betterplace.lab gave a vivid overview of trends with lots of practical examples.

In 2015, FAKT conducted an ex-post impact analysis of environmental projects on the Balkans, commissioned by the Austrian Development Agency ADA. 37 projects were analysed.
